Even if you think you know nothing, a little knowledge makes a huge difference

In 2016, I inherited a VR Festival. I led a successful Arts Council funding bid , winning Ravensbourne £25,000 towards the event. Working in partnership with Virtual Umbrella we engineered a 2-day programme of speakers and tech showcases with partners The Mill, Global Street Art and Rewind . With Patrick Morgan we supported ten artists through a week-long VR bootcamp, culminating in an artist showcase at Gazelli Art House. Not bad for someone who didn’t know that much about VR

Designing a festival with show-and-tell sessions, panels and workshops and a full floor of VR installations was exhilarating. I was interviewed for London Live, we had a live Google Tiltbrush demo to open the event, and Reeps One to close the event with a beatboxing surround sound experience. Oh, and we had Androdes perform and we had to go to the Department of Culture Media and Sport to be interviewed about the event before we had even run it
